In 1984 Allan Brown published a book titled The History of America's Speedways, which attempted to list
every single automotive racing venue on the North American continent. This book has inspired people
around the country to hit the road in search of these lost sites. There is an abundance of these sites in the
New England area. Some were famous in their day while others are of little importance within the grand scheme of racing history, but regardless, each represents an interesting opportunity for low-budget archaeological action and fun.
